Temperatures in Tuscaloosa reached over 100 degrees on August 25th. High school football coaches decided whether to delay their first game of the season.
I talked with the head football coaches of American Christian Academy (ACA) and Central High School. Both coaches emphasized how they prioritized player safety amidst the blazing heat.

Coaches Cody Martin (ACA) and DeMario Pippen (Central) detail the precautions they took in practice and during games so that their players avoided exhaustion. They explain the reasoning on whether they delayed their home opener on August 25th.
